How Many Sales Will You Miss in 2012 Because You Don’t Have Enough Winning Copy?

Put the Discipline of The U.S. Army Honor Guard, The Insights of a Multi-Million Dollar In Home Salesman and the Passion of a Writer to Work For You Pounding Out Page after Page of Profit Producing Copy…

Dear Fellow Marketer,

You’ve worked hard to get to where you are in life and in your business. And my guess is, that you aren’t quite ready to call it quits now.

But perhaps, you realize you need a little help… not that you couldn’t write great copy for your marketing, you probably can…

What’s more likely is you’ve come to the realization that with the rapidly changing marketplace and with how quickly copy gets stale, you simply can’t produce enough quality copy on a consistent basis to keep up with the demand.

So. let me ask you…

One, would you like to have a go to copywriter you could depend on for new promotions and new ideas?

Two, would you like that copywriter to have a disciplined work ethic, real life sales experience, skills and insights as well as a passion and respect for the power of words?

If so, you are in the right place.

Let me explain what I mean when I say you can…

Get A Disciplined Work Ethic, Working For You

Old Guard Discipline Equals Freelance Copywriter SuccessAs a member of the US Army in 1992, I was selected to be part of The Old Guard in Ft Myer VA…

It’s a volunteer only post and you must meet a few criteria to be allowed in. I was lucky enough to be assigned to “Company E” on my arrival. Company E or Echo company was also known as the “Escort to the President” because they were assigned to certain White House ceremonies.

Of course, while it sounds glamorous…

The truth is, this post requires a discipline that is unrivaled in any job. If you’ve ever been to a funeral in Arlington National Cemetery or watched the Changing of the Guard, well… then, you’ve seen The Old Guard at work.

You can see a short video of The Old Guard in action here:

Folding flags in the scorching sun or firing a final salute in the cold silent winter snow taught me a valuable lesson…

That lesson is this: Despite the conditions around you, you must ignore the physical and mental pain, work hard and perform at your personal best everyday.

You have my word that you will receive the same devotion, discipline and flat-out hard work when I’m pounding out page after page of powerful, profit producing copy for you, for your team and for your business.

And while hard work will consistently produce good copy,  great copy takes more than just hard-work and discipline. For great copy you need more, you need…

Face-to-Face, Belly-to-Belly, Real World Sales Insights

I don’t know exactly how it happened, but it did.

Despite my natural talents lying elsewhere, I ventured into sales. I suppose when you are raised the son of a salesman, it just seems the thing to do.

Now, I’ll be upfront with you…

If you could see the numbers, you’d see I was not the best salesman. In fact, I usually found my sales numbers just above the office or store or national average. In all my sales jobs over the years whether it was a men’s clothing store in the mall, selling Cutco knives door to door, selling cars, selling millions of dollars of financial products,  selling home improvement products and complete home additions, or simply selling myself as the owner of one man handyman operation I was never the best.

However, I did learn many valuable skills as salesperson you simply cannot learn any other way.

You see, I’ve looked into the eyes of prospects that just lost 50% of their life savings in the Tech Wreck of 2000. I’ve seen the distrust in their eyes as they tell me their broker made them broker. I’ve seen their eyes light up when they tell me about the stock that doubled their money in one year. I’ve been there when the wife walks out of the room in disgust because her husband won’t let go of a dying stock. And I was still at the table when he quietly revealed he had more losers just like that one that “she doesn’t know about.”

I’ve sold that first used car to a dad and his 16 year old child. I’ve shown homeowners why they deserve to have a great sun room added to their home where they can enjoy coffee, nature and each other.

I’ve picked just the right outfit for that special night when I sold clothes at the mall…

I’ve seen the emotion, the indecision, the skepticism, the doubt… and I made the sale anyway.

But you know, despite the discipline and regardless of my sales experience you still don’t know enough about me unless you know that I have…

A Passion and Respect for the Power of Words

Not just writing but reading and understanding that all great ideas are communicated through the power of words.

Perhaps you like me, are constantly in awe of how a great movie, song or book can literally change the course of a life. I don’t take that lightly. As a copywriter, if I do my job well, I wield a powerful weapon that shapes the lives of the readers.

Words. For as long as I can remember, I have always had a passion for words, for writing and for ideas. Every career test I’ve ever taken has listed writer as a recommended career choice.

In addition, I recently took the “Clifton Strengths-finder 2.0” test. It’s a book put out by the Gallup organization that includes an online test. The test reveals your 5 key strengths. Mine were as follows, with exact quotes from the results. Imagine how these strengths would improve your team.

  • Deliberative – People who are especially talented in the Deliberative theme are best described by the serious care they take in making decisions and choices. They anticipate the obstacles.
  • Strategic – People who are especially talented in the Strategic theme create alternative ways to proceed. Faced with any given scenario, they can quickly spot the relevant patterns and issues.
  • Connectedness – People who are especially talented in the Connectedness theme have faith in the links between all things. They believe there are few coincidences and that almost every event has a reason.
  • Ideation – People who are especially gifted in the Ideation theme are fascinated by ideas. They are able to find connections between seemingly disparate phenomena. (continued on next page…)
  • Intellection – People who are especially gifted in the Intellection theme are characterized by their intellectual activity. They are introspective and appreciate intellectual discussions.

As you probably know, a person that is using their natural talents combined with discipline, hard work, life skills, a passion for ideas and a commitment to “Kaizen” (the Japanese word for constant and never ending improvement) is an extremely valuable and rare find. I believe I am that rare combination. Now you will be able to harness that rare combination of skills and talents to pound out page after page of profit producing copy for you and your business.

If you’ve been looking for the right freelance copywriter to add to your staff, then you may have just found him…

I say “may have” because truth is I’m pretty busy. In fact it is not uncommon for me to be booked out at least 3 months in advance.

Plus, I only take on a certain type of client. I don’t say that to sound harsh or arrogant, it’s just a business choice I made on my first day as a freelancer.

Now, we can discuss what that type of client is by you going to my “contact” page and filling in the form there.

But before you do, let me share one last thing with you…

The idea that I could earn a living reading and researching and writing about new and interesting ideas was more than I could have dreamed of in a career.

I remember the first time I heard about this career called copywriting. I thought it was too good to be true. The idea that I could take my life long love of writing and ideas and combine that with my life experiences in just about every type of job you can imagine was hard to believe.

And once I did learn about the career, I took a leap of faith that this was the career for me. Well, so far I can’t complain. I’ve had the privilege of writing for friends, for companies like Agora and Lombardi. I’ve worked with AWAI and NPE, one of Dan Kennedy’s Info-marketer’s of the year. I even worked on a project for Joe Vitale.

I’ve met some amazing people, been home for my kids and even bought my wife a brand new car thanks to a few royalty checks.

I don’t say all this to brag but to tell you that I LOVE what I do everyday.

Now, if you had your pick of copywriters, wouldn’t you want the one that had everything we’ve talked about above? The discipline, the sales experience, the passion for writing and the love of his job…

If your answer is yes, then why not go on over to my contact page and request some time for us to get together on the phone… then again maybe you have all the copy you need for 2011.

Either way, I’ll be here…writing profit producing copy… for someone… maybe even your competition.
